Don't laugh at me

Where are you?: At home with my mom and brother.
How does that make you feel?: satisfiedsatisfied
What's on?: Mark Wills- Don't laugh at me

I think the radio was intent on making me cry this morning on the way home from work. I stopped at the mall and picked up my mom's mother's day gift and to get my Oleg photo framed. I got her some perfume that she asked for, called Beautiful. It made me think of that meme that was going around the other day. One question was: "What is your favorite scent?" The answer for me,would be the way my mom smells. I love to bury my face in her neck and inhale her scent. (She hates it and it drives her crazy, but I do it anyway, hehe.) I can always tell if she has worn a sweater or jacket or blouse, just by the scent. It's my favorite smell in the world.

The store where I usually go to get photos or posters framed is gone! Just gone! They've been redoing the mall and everything has changed. So now I have to find a new place to get it framed. *pouts* I did try to scan it, but the original is so dark that you can't even tell who is in the picture as seen here. So, I've decided to get it framed and then take photos to post, unless someone has a better idea.

Anyway, back to the music. I was listening to country music station this morning and a whole bunch of sad songs came on. Keith Whitley, Josh Turner, and a new song by Reba McIntire and Kenny Chesney (I think). I was already tearing up, when an older song came on and tears stared streaming down my face. I couldn't help it.

Here it is: "Don't Laugh At Me"

On a brighter note, I want to wish all of you who are lucky enough to be mothers a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Go out and hug your mothers and tell them that you love them. If you don't have children (like me) celebrate your femininity! Happy Woman's Day (Because I said so, nothing official, lol.) Here is a poem that I gave my mother years ago, and now I recite it to her.

A WONDERFUL MOTHER

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He molded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks, fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

----------------Another beauty----------------

THE BEAUTY OF A WOMAN

The beauty of a woman
Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman
must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman
is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman
Is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows,
And the beauty of a woman
With passing years-only grows!

You don't stop laughing because you grow old;
you grow old because you stop laughing

Thank you. The same goes for you. I just wanted everyone to feel special, not just a select few. Give yourself a big hug from me! (See icon.)

Even when my mother's clothes are washed, I can still smell her on them. I know exactly what you mean.

I talked to my mother this morning to wish her a happy Mother's Day; I wish I could be there with her.

Thank you for the lovely poems and wishes. Very sweet of you *hugs*

Well, the song was the last in a series of sad songs, and when it first came out it was at a particularly troubling time in my youth, so it stuck a chord. I didn't cry today when I heard it though, I guess I was just extra sensitive yesterday.

I love what you're saying about your mum being your favourite smell in the world! How sweet!

The song is very sad. I didn't know it nor the singer. Very touching.

Hope, you'll be having a great day! Since I'm not a mother I''ll go and hug mine :) Though she doesn't really like to be hugged, I don't care ;)

BTW. Luuurvv your LJ layout!

My mom was like that, but I'm am very much a "hug" person, so she had to get used to it! Now she loves it. :)

Thanks re: layout. I like the coloring better than my last (even though I made the other one myself.)

Yes, my mum had to get used to my hugs either. Tee hee!

Your former layout was beautiful also but I particularly love the colours of this one and the way they fit to the style. I'll be coming back here to have a look at it as often as I can... ;)
