Big Brother is Watching You

2 + 2 = 5

Yesterday I went with my brother to see the last performance of Burnet High School BETC's One Act Play. We were treated to an amazing experience. They students did a wonderful job of acting in George Orwell's Novel "1984". I had chills running down my spine. I haven't read the novel, but now it's on my list. I'm really at a loss for worlds as to how to describe the myriad of emotions that I went through. Surprise, shock, anger, fear, heart-break. . .
During one scene, an old crone sung a song that I'm sure you are all familiar with: "Here comes the candle to light you to bed, here comes the chopper to chop of your head. . ." I did find quite a few similarities between 1984 and Closet Land. Kind of spooky *another chill*
You know, it's kind of funny. I introduced my youngest brother to Animal Farm and 12 Angry Men, while he introduced me to A Brave New World and 1984 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-Four). Here is a video that Omar sent me ages ago called "Welcome to 1984" sung by Anti-Flag (some people may find the lyrics or images offensive)
