Where are you?: My bed
How does that make you feel?: sleepyI'm supposed to be asleep.
What's on?: watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

Okay, so here goes. Originally I was going to go to London with one of my friends from work. We/I had booked us a Harry Potter fan trip (see here). We were going to go early so that I could go see Creditors and hang out with some of her friends. As you all know, Warner Bros. had other plans. My friend was very wishy-washy for a while, before deciding against going with me, leaving my with both of our (fan)trips paid in full. I told the travel agency to put all of my monies towards the trip in the summer which is twice as long (and twice as expensive.) With the first part of my trip planned separately and still wanting to go I decided to go by myself. I think I may meet up with starrose17 and I know I'm going to meet with kyriaofdelphi.

kyriaofdelphi is going to go see Creditors with me, and maybe help me with my Alan Rickman stalking. Well, not stalking really, just waiting and hoping to see him.

I am leaving Austin at 1600 on Friday the 14th of November, flying on Delta to Atlanta and Air France to London/Gatwick arriving in London in the am of 15 November at aprox 0930. Checking into Best Western Burns Hotel, which is pretty central to a lot of thing or so the map says. I'll take a little trip to the London Eye. (I've already got my ticket.) Do some exploring, rest a bit, make myself beautiful for Alan Rickman, and meet up with kyriaofdelphi. We are seeing the very last show on the very last day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

On day two (Sunday, November 16th) the only thing I have planned for sure is seeing Ivanov, with Kenneth Branagh at the Donmar West End at 1500.

On day three (Monday, November 17th) BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL at 1930

Day four (Tuesday, November 18th) Meet starrose17. Do some fun stuff, sight seeing and watch Avenue Q.

Day five (Wednesday, Nevember 19th)

Day six: (Thursday, November 20th)

Day seven: (Friday, November 21st)Leave London/Gatwick at 1300 via KLM and get back to Austin at 2300
Edited to add a day to my trip and add in extras

I have a three day pass (The London Sightseeing Pass). I'll probably use it for days three four and five. It offers the following:
Offering great value and convenience, the London Pass enables you to beat the lines at selected attractions, with free admission to 19 historical buildings, 20 museums and art galleries, and 14 ships or places of interest.

Extras:

Maps for each attraction, directions, and instructions on how to use London's public transportation
Special discounts for restaurants, museums, theaters, and more!

I was watching Victor/Victoria yesterday(again) and I had a sudden urge to check in trips to Paris. I've been sorely tempted to book a day trip. It's around 250-300 dollars for an escorted trip. What do you guys think? Yes on Paris? Any place in London that I have to see? I will be going back in the summer, and if these trips go well, I may repeat them. So even if I don't go to Paris, it is not completely out of the question for a future trip. Any one on my F-list live in France? If so, can you send me some water from Lourdes for my mom?

So starrose17 what day do you want to get together?
Same goes for you kyriaofdelphi besides the 15th whatcha planning?

Any one else in the London area?

Wow! What a bunch of useful information about planning a trip to London! Especially about the London Sightseeing pass. May I ask how much the 6-days pass is, if I get it right that there's such? I myself am contemplating the possibility to make it to the UK in May-June so I'm going follow all of your posts from now! :-)

I booked all of my trip and extras on expedia.com. I looked it up and a six day pass for one adult is $167.41/person.

If I'm honest I wouldn't pop over to Paris for a day. It won't do neither of the towns justice.

And if you're interested in castles and palaces, I really recommend Hampton Court Palace. If you go back in the summer, I'd wait until then and see a play at the Globe Theatre. Else I'd say, it's a must-see. :)

Thanks for your input. That's kind of what I was thinking, but I wanted someone else's opinion.

I'm going to try to write at least a little bit everyday while I'm away. It might be difficult, because I'll be posting from my blackberry. Maybe not difficult, but time consuming. Thanks for stopping by. I know I'll have a great time away from all of my home responsibilities, but I worry about my family when I'm away. This is only the second trip that I'm taking without them.

Bloody hell that'sa lot of stuff to see lol And it's all spread out over the whoile of London so you're gonna be on the tube alot ^^;; *hates the tube*

Well, as you're going on the London Eye on the 15th, unless you've got anything else going on that day I could meet up with you after you've been on it (cos it's in the area where i get the train into London) and we could head out to the restaurant after that? What time we're you planning on going on the Eye?

Also I've just thought, fancy seeing a play or a musical or anything? Like Avenue Q or Wicked or anything? You can usually get discount tickets if you buy off the street vendors in Leicester Square on the day of the show.

Actually, I'm meeting kyriaofdelphi on the 15th since we are going Alan Rickman stalking on that day. I have to make myself gorgeous for him that evening. I'm not sure what time I'm going to meet with her though.

I went and double-checked online and it looks like I can do the trip to the London eye anytime during my trip. I'm not doing anything until 1930 on the 17th and so far I don't have anything pplanned on the 18th or 19th. Or on Sunday the evening of the 16th. How is the night life in London?

LOL Oh I know how you feel, a Ewan McGregor obsessed friend made me stand outside his house with her for 4 hours about 7 years ago lol He never did show up, and then the next day as we parted, i was walking through...argh, i can't remember the name of the park, but i was running to get the bus and bumbed into him running round the corner of a tree lol XD The look on my friends face when i told her was absoutlely priceless!!

Anyways, I'm free whenever, so if you're not doing anything on say, the 18th, I reckon we could do a bit of xmas shopping in Covent Garden market, (or Camden Market XD My fav) go for a meal (japanese or otherwise), go see a show (any preferences? ^_^), then...I dunno, i've only ever been to a club once in my life so i have no idea what the night life of London is like, plus the only clubs i know of are in Leciester Square, and although you can get into them they are like, celebrity clubs, so will be very very expensive to get in. Or we could just go to a pub ^__^ The last train leaves at midnight for me to get back home.

Oh, I'll bet your friend wasn't to happy when she found out! I hope to get to see Alan Rickman after the play.

Anyways, I'm free whenever, so if you're not doing anything on say, the 18th. . .
That would be great! Exploring and a show, how devine! I have no preference on what we do. I am open to anything. I haven't seen either Wicked ot Avenue Q. Club or pub, whatever we do I'll be happy. I'm easy to please. ^_^

I promise not to keep you out to late!

Excellent!

Okay, well I reckon we should see Avenue Q, mainly because I know exactly where the theatre is lol It is in Leicester Square itself. I have seen it before but it is SO DAMN FUNNY! You'll be in hysterics XD There's only 1 showing on the 18th and that's at 8pm.

So, how's this for a plan. I'll meet you outside the Odeon cinema in leicester Square at about 12.30. My train gets in to Waterloo station at 12.11 and it takes about 20 - 25 minutes to walk to Leciester Square, so i shold be on time to meet you. Then we could go into the japanese restaurant i was thinking of for lunch rather than dinner, cos then we don't have to rush to see the musical. Then we can either walk from there to Covent Garden Market which is about 5 minutes away, or get the tube to Camden Market, we can always decide that at the time. Then either go for another nice dinner or a cheap dinner if the japanese one was too expensive, then head off to see Avenue Q. Then after that, pop into a pub for adrink or whatever you feel like ^_^

Sound like a plan?

The excitement is palpable. I just looked at the calender and saw that it's next Friday! I'm not ready!

I hope I'm right too. I've picked the perfect outfit, great shoes, hair cut. . . etc.

Thanks so much for your well wishes. I'll definitely keep you all posted.
